Semliki Safari Lodge
Semliki Safari Lodge ,Uganda - African Safaris

Semliki Safari Lodge hotel is situated in the Semliki Valley Wildlife Reserve (formerly called Toro Game Reserve), in the Western Rift Valley Uganda
Semliki safari lodge is the only hotel lodge accommodation in over 500 square kilometers of wilderness, offering a truly private experience. Semliki was built in the grand old safari tradition with canvas tents under thatched roofs…but this is far from camping. Built out of local materials, the lodge has a feeling of traditional rustic without losing that all-important comfort
Built out of local materials, the luxury lodge has a feeling of traditional rustic without losing that all-important comfort.

At Semliki hotel, you will stay in large canvas tents with permanent thatched roofs. Each tent includes en-suite bathrooms with running water and private verandas with a stunning panoramic view.

Imagine lying on a hand carved four poster bed draped in muslin. Persian carpets and other soft touches ensure that this is far from roughing it in the bush. We have always taken comfort seriously.
Sofas are piled with cushions, there is plenty of lounging space, loads of books to read, warm muffins brought to you in bed with your morning tea or coffee, and soft fleecy blankets on the beds.
The food at the lodge has often been referred to as the 'Best food in Uganda' - everything is home-made; from the bread baked daily, to the soups, the relishes and chutneys.
While at the lodge you may choose to do nothing more that relax by the pool which overlooks the Blue Mountains of the Congo, or partake in a number of activities that we run from the lodge:
Semliki Safari Lodge is a member of Classic Safari Camps of Africa - a handpicked collection of the most reputable owner-operated hotel safari camps and lodges in some of the most beautiful wildlife areas in Africa and it is the only lodge in Uganda to be included in the collection.
Semliki Safari Lodge tour Ideas

Chimpanzee tracking
six years ago a chimpanzee project was established in conjunction with an American University. There is a researcher on-site at all times, and visitors are invited to join the researcher in the habituation/study activities.
Bird watching
Semliki safari Lodge is home to over 400 species of birds - the geographical diversity of the reserve means we get a real mix of species, the most popular one being the rare Shoebill, which resides in the reeds bordering Lake Albert.
Game Drives
Guests staying at Semliki Safari Lodge are able to go out for game drives or spot lit night drives. As the only place in Uganda that offers night game drives you have a good chance of seeing leopard as well as the odd surprise or two, such as genets, servals, white-tailed and slender mongoose.
Guided Walks and Hiking
You are also able to get out of the vehicles and into the bush, either on primate walks, elephant tracking or just out exploring (with a guide) giving you a taste of the real wilderness. We are also currently exploring hiking opportunities where guests can do a day hike through the lower ranges of the Rwenzori mountains. You would be dropped off in the morning and then picked up on the other side of the range, driving back via the Sempaya hotsprings.
Boat Trips and fishing
the reserve stretches up to Lake Albert where a couple of boats are moored. This is the best way to see the shoebill, but trips are also taken up the lake to a set of massive and secluded waterfalls, exploring the shoreline, fishing for Nile perch, Tilapia and the elusive Tiger Fish. The boats are fully equipped with down riggers, fish finders etc.
