Samburu lodge safari, Samburu Kenya lodge tours & hotel

Samburu Safari Lodge is located on the Uaso Nyiro River bank with a backdrop of mountains and indigenous animals unique to the region. Samburu Lodge offers a wide choice of accommodation in Samburu National Park and spread up and down the river in cottages, bandas and single or twin Grass Roofed Restaurantrooms. All hotel rooms in Samburu Lodge face the river and are complete with a four poster mosquito net. Samburu Hotel Lodge was opened in July 13, 1963, and is set in a rugged landscape with a backdrop of jagged mountains and its own indigenous wildlife.

The landscape, wildlife and vegetation are very different to the lush rolling grasslands of other parks. Samburu Game Reserve Kenya is a place for leopard, lion, elephant and crocodile. It is the place of the semi-nomadic Samburu tribe, a place of thorn bush open plains and vast horizons; it gives you a taste of the romance of the African desert in Kenya. Beautifully situated on the banks of Lodge's Viewthe Uaso Nyiro River, everything at Samburu National Park is geared to making the most of the lodge's spectacular setting. Samburu Lodge Safari will show you the dramatic wilderness from a world of fascinating perspectives: through early morning game drives, walking safaris with skilled Samburu guides, camel rides, and raft trips when the river is high.

And there is plenty of fill the hours between those adventurous game drives - traditional Samburu dances, guided bird watches and a sparkling swimming pool. Night Wildlife Viewing - Every night, a number of crocodiles climb up the river bank to the edge of the crocodile bar and feast on food left out for them. On a good night, guests may also see the secretive, solitary and nocturnal leopard silently arrive to the fresh meat bait put out on a tree across the river.

Samburu Lodge unique guest rooms are spread up and down the river in various sizes of cottages and bandas, with a mixture of decor styles. All rooms have ensuite bathrooms, and some have Inside the Restaurantverandas overlooking the river. Breakfast at the Lodge Guests can enjoy time-honored hospitality and the mouth watering cuisine prepared by the team of chefs. Facing the river, the open-sided Dining Room allows guest to enjoy the sights and sounds of the river as they dine. The famous Crocodile Bar lets you look crocodiles in the eye as you sip your sundowner.

Sip early morning or afternoon tea from the Lounge as you watch the animals and the Uaso Nyiro River. Samburu Game Lodge, a large safari lodge which was recently refurbished. The lodge is well-furnished and equipped with rooms and cottages .Activities are very much on a scheduled basis and there are Samburu dancers for afternoon entertainment. Service and food here is good, though Native Design Hotel Exteriorvery much what you'd expect in a hotel so you shouldn't expect the same character or quality of experience here but for families or those just looking for a convenient base for exploring the surrounding park, the lodge is a good choice.

Samburu National Reserve straddles the muddy Euaso Nyiro river and is one of the most picturesque parks of northern Kenya. Clusters of doum palms and acacia crowd the banks of the river and dry river beds that carve through the reserve. As the main source of sustenance, the river is a focal point for wildlife and birds, both of which are plentiful. A wonderful morning can be spent just sitting in your open vehicle watching a family of elephants drinking, bathing and being sociable in the river. Female Lion Moving One of Her CubsThe baboons in this park seem to be particularly precocious and so antics involving the hard doum palm nuts and adolescent baboons scampering around on the banks of the river can provide endless entertainment.

The park is hot and so activities are normally concentrated in the early morning and late afternoon, returning to camp for a big breakfast or hearty dinner. The middle of the day is spent relaxing and birdwatching or snoozing in the shade. There are quite a few lodges here and so you will see minibuses around but your guide will know the main routes and it is possible to still enjoy a rewarding game experience without feeling part of a human migration.

Buffalo Springs Reserve adjoins Samburu and a drive into this area can be a nice change of scene, focussing mainly around a series of fresh springs which act like a wildlife magnet in this arid territory.

Samburu Safari Lodge Hotel Accommodation:
The hotel’s unique guest rooms are spread up and down the river in various sizes of cottages and bandas, with a mixture of decor styles. All cottages, rooms and suites numbering 61 in total, are decorated using the finest materials and fabrics. All accommodations have en suite bathrooms, some with baths, and all have private balconies overlooking the river. There are several family rooms. One room has been custom designed to accommodate the special needs of physically challenged persons
