There are often no age restrictions on private guided safaris making them a great option for families. The private guided Africa safari itineraries listed below are some of our most popular safari options. Private guided safaris to Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania are safaris designed and led by the professional travel guide assigned to you. If you wish to have a totally personalized African experience, designed specifically to suit your needs,
Guided by some of the best tour guides in Africa, and to travel with your own group (be it family or friends, then our safaris packages are ideal for you. Imagine being with your family or your best friends. People with whom you would like to spend quality time, but often do not find the opportunity. You are in a strange and wild environment. You are sitting around a campfire in the wilds of Africa. You might hear the distant roar of a lion, or the whoop of a hyena. There is the cry of a nocturnal primate called a “bush baby”, and lots of other interesting sounds. This experience is indeed very strange and hard to believe. However there is also something innately primeval about being in the African bush. The sensations and the experience of being here is at the very heart of our being. As the days pass it also makes more sense and becomes more familiar because you are accompanied by one of the best safari guides in Africa. A private guide can enhance your safari experience limitlessly and is not necessarily a prohibitive expense, depending on the travel guide, his experience and credentials, and the type of Africa safari you choose. A private guide to Africa is recommended for families on safari; or for those with a special interest such as photography, ornithology or anthropology or those that require a bilingual guide. An African private guide may be a specialist in his field (that may accompany you or lead a scheduled trip) or he may just be a highly regarded and experienced professional. One of the most important aspects of a private guided trip is that you spend quality time with the guide, and specifically on what interests you, developing and expanding your knowledge throughout the entire trip. Even if you are on a scheduled group safari with other travelers (camping safaris or lodge safaris), you still have the benefit and consistency of traveling with the same guide as opposed to hopping from safari lodge to safaris lodge meeting different lodge guides at each place. Kenya Tanzania Uganda Safaris are primarily conducted in English however we can provide guides or translators (subject to availability) for the following languages: German, Spanish, French, Italian and Polish. The cost of guide’s fees, accommodation plus transport needs to be shared between safari participants which can be expensive for individuals/small groups; however camping safaris are more affordable, as is group travel. It is possible to have a private tour guide accompany you on any type of Kenya Uganda and Tanzania safari – camping or lodge accommodated, even when traveling between countries with you. We work with a selection of highly experienced holiday guides and operations, most of which owner-operated and thus go the extra mile as they love what they do! A private safaris guide not only shares his or her knowledge (and charm!) but also coordinates your safari trip, assisting through airport connections, accommodation check in, changing money, deciding where to dine and how to spend your time on flexible days. We operate many private guided safari itineraries and please note that the areas of special interest such as birding or mobility impaired are listed under their individual pages on Special Interest Safaris. From experience gained over many years of working and guiding in the safari industry in East Africa, we believes that the advantages of having a professional safari guide to personally accompany you throughout the duration of your safari in Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda greatly outweigh the additional costs for this highly personal service, given that many people will only go on a safari to Africa once in their life time. Whilst many Kenya Uganda Tanzania safari camps have resident guides to spot and identify game, a private guide does far more than this. Having identified the individual interests and needs of each member in your safari group they set the rhythm of the entire safari by unveiling layer upon layer the secrets and magic of the bush as the safaris to Africa unfolds. In addition to this, a private travel guide intimate knowledge of each camp and area that he takes his guests to allows him to concentrate on the highlights that each area has to offer. Similarly, many resident guides have very little idea of what may be on offer at the next safaris camp or what information a guest may previously have been told by a guide from their previous camp. The presence of a safari private guide whose sole focus is your genuine comfort, care and safety also allows for spontaneous and flexible scheduling of your activities around your own needs and interests. Anyone who has been fortunate to have experienced the magic of Africa with a private trip guide will no doubt insist on returning to safari holidays in Africa with a guide with whom they will have built up a relationship and more often than not these relationships develop into lifelong friendships. Like most professions, the standard of wildlife tour guide in Africa varies considerably. Countries such as Kenya and Tanzania have a formal qualification requirement which is extremely rigorous, and ensures top quality guiding. On the other hand, Uganda has a reasonably easy entry level so standards can vary considerably. Rwanda has good regional training and licensing requirements, and because the industry is quite small, high standards are usually achieved. There are no formal qualification requirements to guide in Zanzibar Island and with guide training left to individual companies, it can be extremely erratic. But good tour guiding does not only come from the ability to reel off facts and figures or Latin names. Other factors like understanding animal habits and movements and being able to ‘read’ the bush, allow good guides to be fairly certain about predicting situations. They also need to be conversant and be able to impart their knowledge to their guests. If you want to be serious about your Uganda Tanzania and Kenya safaris, don’t be shy to ask about the quality of the guides. A good Safari company should be able to suggest the best, and they could make all the difference to your experience. If you are planning on being active and adventurous on safari in Uganda, Kenya and Tanzania on walking safari, canoeing safari, Migration Safari and horse-riding safaris etc), then good guiding is essential from a safety standpoint. Most safari camps in Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda organize game
drives with between 6 and 10 guests on a vehicle. In typical game viewing circumstances, the best camps and lodges will usually not put more than 6 guests on one vehicle. Whilst sharing your experiences with a few other guests is normal and often great fun, it is usually possible to pay extra for ‘exclusive-use’ of a vehicle for all or part of your safari. A private vehicle naturally comes with a private guide and tends to be very appealing to more experienced travelers who have very specific interests such as birding or photography, or simply wish to priorities the flexibility and exclusivity that a private vehicle and guide will offer. Taking things one step further, it is possible to hire specialist ‘private guides’ across much of Africa. This can be within the framework of permanent camps and lodges, or more often connected with some kind of private mobile safari or walking trail. With many years experience as a leading Africa specialist we know personally and have worked with a wide range of specialist and professional guides. These guides are ‘the best of the best’ and are experts in their field. To be hosted and
guided by such a guide is a genuine privilege. Whilst we do not promote ‘hand holding’ just for the sake of it, the benefits of traveling with a top quality private guide are not
limited to just their guiding qualities, but extend to encompass your whole safari experience. Hosting at meal times, smoothing your way through transfer arrangements and telling entertaining stories of Africa around the camp fire all fall under the remit of a top private guide. First timers to Africa or those looking for a hassle free and exclusive travel experience should always consider a guided safari to make the most of their experience. It is important to understand the difference between a safari in a National Park and a safari in a Private Game Reserve. In the majority of cases national parks in Africa are government owned and arguably allow more traffic into the park. This can in peak season mean that game drives are shared with a large number of vehicles including self drive safari goers. Whilst many people view this as a disadvantage please do

remember that the national parks often offer the prime game viewing areas. It is important to understand that in the likes of the Serengeti National Park in Tanzania and the Masai Mara National Park in Kenya, to experience game viewing on this scale and to witness a natural wonder such as the wildebeest migration, one must be prepared to share! A private game reserve operates differently. It is private land where the vehicles being driven in that area belong to the camps and lodges situated on that property. The advantage being that the safari experience is quieter and more exclusive. In many cases these private reserves border national parks. Our Private guided safaris are designed and led by the professional guide assigned to you. Quite simply they are the best safaris available. If you wish to have a totally personalized African experience, designed specifically to suit your needs, guided by some of the best guides in Africa, and to travel with your own group (be it family, friends or business partners), then our safaris are ideal for you.

Why are Safari Ranger guides different to tour guides? Your safari guide is a critical part of making a safari a success - that's a fact. During the planning of your safaris you need to make sure you are dealing with a safari tour operator who knows how important it is to employ tour guides who are more than just tour guides or driver guides. A Kenya Uganda Tanzania tour operator requires a 'type of guide' who is very much committed to making every client's safari an exciting and enjoyable experience. It's beneficial to the client which in tern benefits the tour operator, which benefits the guide.
A Safari Ranger is a tour guide who has extra passion and is completely committed; who has carried on with his or her career to train and qualify as a Field Guide, then going on to live and work in the bush as a Professional Game Ranger. The increased amount of knowledge and experience thus gained working in the bush, far out weighs the exposure obtained by a tour guide who is content with only passing a tour guide course. All our Safari Rangers are friendly, experienced and are registered with the relevant guiding associations of Safari Rangers. The Kenya Tanzania Safari Rangers hold level 3 and SKS DA (Dangerous Animals) qualifications which are currently recognized as the highest qualifications in the safari industry throughout Africa.
Our Tour Guides
One of the most important parts of a tour guide's job on a Kenya Tanzania Uganda safari holiday is educating clients on the tour. This requires hours of continuing education, research and hands-on experience learning the ins and outs of the area they are leading safaris tour in. This may include researching wildlife life, area history, culture and environmental factors that make the tour area different. Because Kenya Uganda Tanzania tour safaris expose the tourists to a fragile environment, a large part of a safari tour guides day is spent on safety, It is important that the tour guide take the necessary precautions to protect their participants from potential hazards such as poisonous or dangerous animals. The safari tour guide must also take the necessary safety steps to protect the animals and environment they tour in. The safety precautions needed may include safety training in respect to contact with wild animals, adequate travel equipment and vehicles to withstand animal attacks, and substantial knowledge of how animals react to stimuli they do not normally encounter in their natural environment.
Measures for environmental protection may include trash management, ecologically sound vehicles, as well as using techniques that allow the clients to get close to the animals without disturbing their natural behaviors. A Kenya Tanzania Uganda tour guide must also be prepared for any emergency. Any Uganda Tanzania Kenya tour company and safari operators will require that the tour guide be first-aid certified as well as carry a first-aid kit in their vehicle at all times. The largest part of a safari tour guides day is the actual leading of tours and safaris, Depending on the area they operate in, tours can last anywhere from a few hours to a few weeks. A tour guide on safari will spend her day interacting with tourists of various ages, beliefs, races and personality types. Each tour may have a different dynamic, requiring the travel guide to be flexible and amiable. It is the tour guide's responsibility to not only take their clients near wildlife, but they must also be able and willing to answer any questions that their clients may have. A typical tour consists of leading the clients through the habitat where the animals are and
describing the behavior, lifestyle, and challenges of each animal species, plant or insect. If the tour lasts more than a few hours, a tour guide may also be in charge of setting up safari camp, planning and prepping meals, and providing ample recreational activities, such as hiking or nature expeditions. Though much of the tour guide's day is spent on Kenya safaris tour to Masai Mara, Lake Nakuru Samburu, Amboseli and Tanzania safari tours to Serengeti Lake Manyara, Ngorongoro Crater and Mount Kilimanjaro, customer service is still a large part of their job. Being able to cater to their guests' needs ensures repeat clients, as well as a great source of advertisement through word of mouth. Customer service is crucial in furthering a safari tour guide's business. A safari tour guide may also need to double as a salesman. Although the tour guide's job does not include selling a specific product, they must be able to present all the services and tours available from the company, as well as try to interest people in repeat visits or purchasing
tickets for other events sponsored by the company. Because a safari tour guide works so closely with the environment, conservationism is an integral part of their job. Conservation is the promotion of causes that help save and preserve the animals and environments within a specific area. Safari tour guides promote conservationism by emphasizing in presentations the importance of saving the wildlife and environment shown to clients. All our tour guides and drivers are very well-trained and certified by KPSGA (Kenya Professional Safari Guides Association). Highly proficient in the identification of birds and animals, they are also excellent game-spotters. Since it’s in their nature of genuine willingness and desire to make that difference, you may find them constantly enquiring about your well-being and asking whether they can be of any further assistance to you. Equally important for you to know is that they get motivated when you
ask them for more. We have drummed up support of all our safari guides drivers by giving them unlimited mileage restriction. They provide dedicated service and assume
responsibility for the outcomes of your safaris by being your constant companions throughout your safari trips. Born and raised in East Africa, they take great pride in sharing their passion and intimate knowledge about their respective countries. Having placed enormous amount of confidence in them, we have no intention of treating our current challenge any differently in the near or distant future. Subtle as it may sound, but this minutest attention to detail is what has set us apart from other safari tour operators and is the key to a memorable safari experience. By paying personal attention to each of our travelers’ needs we have worked our way through past safari guests’ referrals who enthusiastically recommend us to their friends and families. At Safari Center you can be rest assured that you are in good hands. We constantly strive to pick cues and signaling from our valued travelers and adapt our business in order to better serve you.
Kenya Tanzania Tour Guide Solomon grew up on his family farm near Machakos. He spent his early years looking after cattle. Without formal education these experiences formed the base of his love and knowledge of Kenya's flora and fauna. James has been guiding safaris for almost twenty years and is one of a very few silver badge professional guides. He is a brilliant ornithologist.

African Safaris and Adventures Safari Vehicles All our safari vehicles are designed to give you maximum game viewing and comfort in the rough terrain of the Kenya Tanzania Uganda bush. Having the right safari vehicle enables us to get into the right position for that very important shot, these are working bush tour vehicles and the emphasis is always on getting results, not the cosmetics of the paintwork, after all without the safaris vehicle there is no safari. What is important is that we know the capabilities and that your safety is paramount that is why we spend considerable sums of money on preventative maintenance. The safaris vehicles have been modified with roof hatches and comfortable seats - with plenty of pockets and space for your equipment and bags- to give you maximum vision to shoot high or low. We understand that every hour is important on your African holiday and some of our safaris packages comprise a combination of road safari and air transfer between the world famous Game Parks of Africa. We also operate a fleet of specially outfitted 4-wheel drive Stretched Land Rovers, Land Cruisers and mini buses providing for maximum flexibility, adventure, and wildlife viewing. Your private safari includes exclusive use of these
Vehicles with no mileage restrictions and unlimited game drives for the duration of your Afrika safari. All vehicles have a canvas convertible top, which can be rolled completely back so that you may view scenery and wildlife, unhindered by obstructions, while standing from any of the seats. Land Rovers are also the most functional safari vehicle, capable of handling poor road conditions, and are extremely strong off road. You will appreciate the flexibility and reliability of your Land Rover, especially if your itinerary involves significant off road driving. The Land Rover is the most optimal vehicle to get to all the best wildlife viewing spots which are sometimes well “off the beaten path.” One vehicle is ideal for groups ranging from one to six persons. to Kenya typically start and end in either Nairobi or Mombassa, although there are a handful of exceptions to this. Most tour companies in Kenya use either large Toyota Land Cruiser jeeps or Nissan Urvan minibus which has hatches in the roof for wildlife viewing, often with some kind of shade over the top. Each drive typically lasts 2-3 hours and the best in terms of sighting animals are those that start at 6.30 am or 4 pm, when animals are at their most active. You may also be taken to a safaris lodge after the late afternoon wildlife drive for the same thing before returning to camp for dinner. Some travellers choose to maximize their chance of seeing the Big Five by touring one of crowded parks such as Amboseli National Park or Masai Mara. Springs, Meru, Lake Nakuru and Masai Mara. What is the best time to go on guided Kenya Tour safari? Wildlife can be seen at all times of year,but the migration pattern of the big herbivores which in turn attract the big predators, are likely to be a major factor in deciding when to go. Many guided safari operators now take internet bookings. However, if you do this, you may have to pay by credit card over the internet or on the telephone - not always a safe thing to do - and you have no assurance that you will get what you have paid for until you arrive in Kenya. Guided Gorilla Safaris
Primate tracking safari is a very popular activity for Rwanda Safaris and Uganda safari. The guided Gorilla tracking or trekking is Uganda’s most sought after tourism activity. Guided Gorilla tracking safari is on the rise especially after the increase in the gorilla population. Bwindi Impenetrable National Park and Mgahinga Gorilla National Park are the prime destinations. In Bwindi gorilla trekking safari last a few hours to the whole day depending on where the gorillas are in the thickest. Tracking permits goes for a cost of US500$ per permit. Certain basic rules are set for the trackers with the guide of gorilla wardens. In Mgahinga Park Gorilla safaris commences at Ntebeko Point at 08.45. Tracking starts at 08.30 and takes about eight hours. Uganda gorilla safaris and tours involve two major gorilla safari activities namely;
