This early 20th century Dutch-built private yacht can be chartered exclusively to explore the East African coastline and islands along the ancient spice route from Lamu to Zanzibar, making it an ideal option for families or friends. You can choose the route and decide whether to stay on board all the time or for a few days.

You can also participate in the sailing under the guidance of the qualified crew of six. Midsummer's chef prepares contemporary international cuisine mainly based on fresh seafood including lobster, prawns, calamari, crab and whatever fish take the bait. There are also many opportunities to sample local cuisine whenever the ship puts in.

Accommodation-wise, there is a large pine panelled salon complete with piano and dining facilities - perfect should you want a break from being on deck. Just off the salon are two twin cabins with en-suite showers while the private master cabin has a full size freestanding antique bath. All cabins are air-conditioned but if you want a natural alternative, try a night on deck swinging under the stars in a traditional hammock.
