The hotel resort is fantastic. Run and owned by Kenyan hoteliers (known for their professionalism) this is a slick and efficient hotel.The kind of a resort where everything runs as it should. You’ll find all the usual facilities and activities, including a state-of-the-art water sports centre, high-tech PADI-affiliated scuba centre, fitness centre, kiddies club, tennis court and disco. It’s also an ideal place to access some of Zanzibar’s best diving sites around the magnificent Mnemba Atoll. There’s also good snorkelling for non-divers.

The reception area at Blue Bay hotel is very impressive. It’s white, airy and spacious with Arabic arches and a fountain set in a palm-fronded atrium. Blue Bay hotel is the only hotel in Zanzibar that offers not only a welcome drink on arrival, but a cool face cloth to refresh after the long journey. Very welcome indeed. There are also the Maasai who act as doormen and guards on the beach.

The BAHARI BEACH Bar is an ideal place for guests to sip cold drinks, ice creams and mild shakes or to have a meal of seafood specialties, pizza or sandwiches, all served in an informal setting with toes in the sand and the ocean right in front during lunch time until 1600hrs.

Blue Bay Diving
There are numerous reef, wall and wreck dives surrounding the island but the majority of the underwater environment is still left to be explored!
Suitable for all levels of experience, the variety of corals is excellent and there are regular sightings of turtles, large groupers, morays and the occasional reef shark. On the east coast, the deeper waters are host to whale sharks, leaopard rays and dolphins (mainly during March, August and September).

The dive centre is Zanzibar’s first five star PADI IDC dive centre. Courses are operated by the dive centre to cater for all abilities from complete beginner to instructor level, by their multilingual and highly trained instructors.
Snorkellers are also welcome on their dive boats where snorkel guides are also available.
The Mnemba Atoll is where most of the diving will be enjoyed during your stay. The atoll offers a wide variety of diving including wall and drift diving. The region is also well known for big fish encounters and the coral reef is in pristine condition.
