The Serena Hotel itself draws on a subtle Maasai cultural motif, featuring natural woodcarvings, traditional artifacts and a glowing selection of local art.
The Hotel rooms, each with an uninterrupted view over the ever-changing vistas of the African plains, are styled to a traditional Maasai concept featuring beadwork, gourds, hand-painted murals and the clever use of the traditional manyatta bent-brushwood effect so as to blend an authentic nomadic aura with all the comforts of unabashed five star hotels luxuries.
The Serena Hotel lodge offers superb accommodation in 96 guests’ rooms, every room being self-contained. Specifically, the lodge has 86 two twin beds, 10 one twin beds and 17 pairs of separate rooms that interconnect.
Overlooking the saltlick and floodlit water hole, the open-air dinning room serves travellers very expensive and impressive international manus, together with perfect African dishes where everybody serves him/herself outside.

The full service bar - located next to the dining room - serves fresh fruit juices, soft drinks, tea and coffee, cocktails, wines, spirits and liqueurs. There is another small bar by the outdoor pool.

Overlooking the sparkling swimming pool and beautiful landscaped gardens, the verandah also offers guests exceptional game viewing.
With just a day's advance notice, guests can be treated to a private Mountain High breakfast (an afternoon tea in this same location can also be arranged).

A wide range of board games plus a full library of books on Africa.
There are daily-guided nature/bird walks through the lodge grounds given by the resident naturalist.
Each day from 2:30 pm. to 3:30 pm., there is a lecture on some particular aspect of the Maasai culture, which is followed by tribal dances.
In the evenings, there are Maasai dance performances, music and entertainment.
Informative daily talks and slide presentations on indigenous culture given by the resident naturalist.
Within the grounds of Amboseli Serena there is a fully air-conditioned conference room with unobstructed views of Mount Kilimanjaro. The room has a capacity of 80 people and is suitable for meetings, seminars or small banquets.
All guests are invited to plant a tree as part of The Amboseli Reforestation Program.
